Mug Cozies

Are you not tired of your cup of hot beverage cooling down too quickly? Well, I am tired of that happening to my cup of goodness. So I thought about it and realized teapots have cozies for that very problem, why not make a cozy for my cup?

Here is a pattern I wrote up and I have been making these and selling them faster than I can make them. Hope you like the pattern. (I don’t usually write up patterns for others to use. So I hope you can understand the instructions.)

Basic Mug Cozy

Hook: 3.5mm

Wool: suitable for the hook

Pattern:

Ch46 sts.

In second ch from hook, hdc, and in remaining chs, hdc.

Ch2, Hdc across all sts for 12 rows.

13th Row: ch 17, hdc across.

Finish off.

I used the basic cozy and added different finishes to the basic base.

2018 temperature blanket

dav

This year for my temperature blanket, I am doing weekly blocks. This way it is easier to carry with me and I like making blocks. Also as there are 52 weeks in the year which won’t work for a blanket, I am going to add another 2 blocks for Easter and Christmas. That will be a perfect number to make a nice sized blanket.

I have 5 weeks done in the picture, a bit behind in weeks, and I am going to add a white boarder around each one. And I am going to use the join-as-you-go method.

I will post a picture of a completed block as soon as I have done one.

Hungry little guy

Hello all

It would seem that I not only care for the elderly persons I work with, but also the little furry friends of nature.

This squirrel comes into the house at the same time every morning and evening. Most times he steals food from the counters or containers which stand on the counters. Today he grabbed the last few biscuits and ate them outside. I found the packet laying in the garden. And I had been looking for them in the morning to serve them with my elderly charge’s tea. Well it didn’t happen.

I felt sorry for the guy and fed him sunflower seeds… Actually he poured them out for himself, greedy little guy. I wonder what will happen tomorrow….😂

Useful Bags

Hi all

These bags are so useful!! I am using one of them to hold soft toys! One can use them as a grocery bag, or even to hold your large veggies – pumpkins, squash and/or potatoes.

It is very easy to make these bags, all you need is know how to crochet a flat circle, and chain and single crochet. I used a 12mm hook and XL Chunky wool.WP_20170225_09_20_02_Pro
