Rose Tea Benefits

Roses are so lovely to look at. Their aromatic fragrance is a delight to our noses. But they also have many benefits for our health.

The benefits of rose tea:

Roses contain vitamin C, malic acid, pectin and citric acid. This makes roses a safe diuretic and it is perfect for those on a weigh-less journey. Just drink the tea throughout the day.

Rose petals are an ideal home cure for various skin conditions including acne as they contain antiseptic, anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties.

Washing your face with rose tea helps to keep your skin soft, tightened and hydrated. Thus making it great for reducing wrinkles and fine lines. It also helps to clear blemishes and dark circles. Rose tea is wonderful for premature ageing as the antioxidants delay the free radicals from damaging our skin.

Rose tea is also an effective anti-allergen. It helps with skin prone to rashes and allergies. And it helps to heal sun damaged skin over time.

Rose tea is great for women who suffer from heavy periods with intense pain. They can  take the tea to help with the pain and reduce the blood flow. You make this tea with 2 cups of warm water and black pepper powder and honey. It is also a good home remedy for infertility and irregular periods.

Regular drinking of rose tea can boost the immune system due to the vitamin C content it contains. And it is great to have a cup of the rose tea when you have a sore throat or cold.

 

Rose tea is a natural laxative and this aids in constipation and it is just as efficient as a diarrhea cure. It is effective for those who have liver conditions. Rose tea helps the intestines to expel waste from the gut and it nourishes the gastric mucosa making it suitable to encourage good bacteria growth.

By drinking 2 to 3 cups of rose tea has been known to cure urinary tract infections. Just remember to crush the rose petals when you make this tea.

Chain Necklace

Chain necklace? Are you trying to be crazy? Well not really, you see this is not the typical chains that one uses to chain a bike to the pole or the chain that is used to anchor things, this is crochet chains.

This necklace is very simple to do and any beginner can give it a try. All you need to know is how to chain, slip stitch and single crochet. Don’t worry you only have to do a little single crochet not that much and I will help you along. Pattern:

Hook and wool of choice. No gauge is used in this pattern but the larger the wool skein or more grams the thicker and longer your necklace will be.

Start by chaining 8, in second chain from the hook, single crochet across. (7sts).

Chain 1, single crochet across the stitches to the end. Repeat this row 6 more times. You should have 8 rows done in total. Finish off leaving a 30cm end.

Now for the necklace part and it happens to be the easiest part.

Chain until you have no wool left. Just keep chaining.

When you have run out of wool, finish off. Take the first chain and tie it to the last chain made. You should have a HUGE huge loop. Now loop the huge loop as many times as you can around your elbow and over your palm. You can do the loops looser than that or slightly tighter. These multiple loops will for the necklace ‘chains’. When you are unable to loop anymore then just secure it, we will be covering that area so it doesn’t matter how you do that. Take the little single crochet square you made at the beginning, and fold it over your join made on the chains, sew up the side seam and trim any ends you might have.

Viola you made your chain necklace!

Hi all

My day has been one of those days when you wonder why life is like it is. And I felt that I needed to give myself something positive just so that I end the day on a happier note. 

Blackberries and raspberries on vanilla ice cream is perfect! And eating it alone in bed with a book is a perfect way to end a not so positive day 😀
